MANES, MARJORY ANNE BECK - age 57, of Newport, died Tuesday afternoon at her home in Newport. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Newport, Sec./Treas. Of Manes Funeral Home, Inc. of Newport, a graduate of Rogersville High School and had attended Berea College. She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Beck; and her grandson, Chuck Manes. She is survived by her husband, Charles Manes of Newport; sons, Jeff and Eric Manes, both of Newport; grandchildren, Ian and Kelli Manes of White Pine; mother, Geneva Beck of St. Clair; brothers, Lynn and June Beck of St. Clair, and Dudley Beck of Knoxville; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m., Thursday at the First United Methodist Church of Newport with the Rev. Riley Huffstetler, Father David Garrett and Dr. J. Castro Smith officiating with interment in the Union Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Newport, Smokey Mountain Hospice or to Breast Cancer Research. Manes in charge.
