She passed away in Fayetteville, GA after a brief illness. Betty grew up in Blount County, Tennessee and graduated from Walland High School. She attended Maryville College where she met her beloved husband, Earvil Whitehead. They were married September 13, 1948. Betty and Earvil's love flourished for over 67 years and their marriage has been a beautiful illustration for everyone in their lives. Professionally, Betty excelled in interior design and sales, but she will be remembered most for her success in real estate. Her servant's heart and thirst for knowledge made her a leader among her industry. Betty held many leadership positions on The Blount County Association of Realtors. She was also involved with the Board of Directors and served on various committees both locally and statewide. She retired in 2006. Betty was a member of First Baptist of Alcoa. She loved the Lord and was a student of His word. She treasured her family and had 6 children, 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, who affectionately refer to her as, "Nana". Betty has left this earth with a legacy of great love, godliness, hard work, intelligence, and honesty.
