SUMMERS, CARL R. - age 88, of Knoxville, passed away Thursday, March 4, 2010. He was a member of Lincoln Park Baptist Church and a member of IBEW Local Union 760. Mr. Summers was a disabled veteran, having served in the United States Army. He also served with CCC. Predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Sarah Summers; 7 brothers and sisters. Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Gleneva "Susie" Summers; sons, Richard Summers, Kenneth Summers and wife, Faye; daughter, Sue Ann Brandreth; grandson, Jonathan Brandreth; great-granddaughter, Haley; sisters, Ruby Miller and Bonnie Raley; a host of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association , P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011, or http://www.alz.org/join_the_cause_donate.asp. The Summers family will receive friends at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel, Monday, March 8, from 12 -1 pm. Funeral service, Rev. Richard Nicley officiating, will follow.
