WHALEY , MARJORIE MILLER - 71 years, of Knoxville, passed away peacefully, Sunday, April 14, 2002, at her home. Member of West Hills Baptist Church, and former member of the choir. Former member of the Knoxville Choral Society, Knox Area Dulcimer Club, and Knoxville American Business Women's Association. Graduate of Central High School in 1949. Attended University of Tennessee. Preceded in death by parents, Arthur and Rattie Miller; sister, Wanda; mother-in-law and father-in-law Freida and Wayne Whaley . Survivors: husband of 53 years, Doyle E. Whaley ; sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Mary Susan Whaley of Miami, Okla., L. Dennis and Debbie Whaley of Chattanooga, James W. and Kathy Whaley of Knoxville; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and sister, Nova. The family would like to thank Dr. Timothy Panella and staff and especially the University of Tennessee Hospice Staff. Funeral service 10 a.m. Wednesday at Mynatt's Chapel, Dr. John E. Pennington, Jr. officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandchildren: Bobby Cox, Doc Owens, Robert A. Whaley , Ross Helton, Larry Paul, and Gordon Jett. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes, memorial donations be made to the West Hills Baptist Church Pipe Organ Fund, or a charity of your choice. Arrangements by Mynatt's.
