Word was received here Sunday of the death of L. H. Bailey at his home in Bemidji, Minn., following an attack of bowel trouble. Gideon Bailey, his uncle, and E. L. and Chester Ridenour, his brothers in law, left for that place Sunday evening to attend the funeral. The deceased was about 45 years of age. He was reared in this county and 20 years ago was among the active and prominent young men of the community. He moved from here to Dakota and later served as private secretary to Congressman Pickler of that state. He was also register of the U. S. Land office for a time. He engaged in the practice of law at his present home a few years ago and soon became one of the leading lawyers in the northern part of Minnesota. Mr. Bailey visited Tipton friends a few months ago and at that time was in rugged health. The news of his death will occasion sorrow to many friends here.
