Sammy Scott Denton, age 57, of Newport, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Nikki Bryant; father, Scott Denton; grandmothers, Sally Cline and Queen Esther Denton. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Michelle Denton; daughter and her fiancé Sammie Jo Denton and Stephen Dodge II and son-in-law Benji Laws; son and his wife Conrad III and Ashley Morales; grandchildren, Aaliyah Denton Laws, Zachariah Scott Dodge, Makayla Morales, Selena Morales, Conrad Morales IV and Samuel Morales; mother, Linnie Cline Denton; brother, Jerry Epley; sisters, Christine Denton and Beverly Casey Downs; host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family including, Aunt/Mom Dorothy ‘Woop’ McNabb; other children by choice, Joshua ’J J’ Johnson, Garrett Watson, Christie Nicole and Brandy Williamson, April Hawk, T. C. Cates, Kyle Bowlin and Kristal Cline Workman; special friends, Billy ‘Grub’ Jones, Sharon Brady, Larry McCarter, Johnny Edmonds and Randall Hall and spiritual brother, Jeff Collier. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Manes Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Friday, April 1, 2016 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Robert Williamson and Rev. Jason Ellison officiating. Burial will follow in the McNabb Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charles Owensby, Big Jim Denton, Curtis Watson, Steve Hembree, Arvel Lee McNabb and Donnie Clevenger.
