CHAPMAN, CLYDE F. - age 80, of Greenback, passed away Thursday, June 24, 1999 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He retired from The Aluminum Company of America at Alcoa with 42 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Mae Rose Chapman; sons, Ralph Clinton and Earl Finley Chapman; parents, James Chapman and Bertha Chapman; sister, Helen Hurst and brother, Lloyd Chapman. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Bertha Mae and U.S. Shown of Maryville; sons and daughters-in-law, Leroy and Susie Chapman of Greenback, George Richard and Peggy Chapman of Mooresville, NC; grandchildren, Michael Shown of Morristown, Michael and Tracy Casner of Harrison, TN, Scott Chapman of Knoxville, Jeff Chapman, Doug and Teresa Chapman, all of Maryville, Don and Missy Chapman of Lenoir City, Greg and Pam Hathcock of Albermarle, NC; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Philip L. Chapman of Sebring, Fla., Ralph Chapman of Loveland, CO, Sam Chapman of San Jose, CA; sister-in-law, Ocie Murrell of Rockford; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Alvin and Georgia Costner; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Estelle Long of Maryville. Funeral services will be 8:00 p.m. Saturday in McCammon-Ammons Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Fred H. Garner officiating. The interment will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in Mountain View Church of Christ (Christian) Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Saturday at McCammon-Ammons Funeral Home, Maryville.
