DENTON, JESSIE HAZEL - age 90 of Cosby, passed away Friday, February 18, 2005. She attended Cocke County High School and was a member of Caton's Grove Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hooper Enloe "Dick" Denton parents, Harrison and Georgia Lindsey children, Doris Alona Denton, James Harrison Denton and Jesse Enloe Denton brothers, Y.J. and Press (Banks) Lindsey sisters, Nell Dorsey, Ruby Lindsey and Eugenia McGaha. She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Gordon and Iva Lee Denton of Parrottsville daughters, Rita Benson of Cosby, Emma Alley and Hilda Lovell both of Newport grandchildren, Billie Ann Raines of Newport Donnie Webb of Dandridge, Chip Alley of Knoxville, Tara Alley of Charleston, SC, Rickie Lovell of Newport, Michelle Woodson of Newport, Terryl Denton of Parrottsville and Bradley Denton of Maryville also several great grandchildren sisters in law Georgia Lindsey, Dorothy McNabb of Newport, Mamie Lindsey of Cosby and brother in law Zeke Denton of Newport. Funeral services will be held 8 p.m. Monday February 21, 2005 at Manes Funeral Home Chapel with burial 10 a.m. Tuesday in Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral services. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to National Bank of Tennessee to the Jesse Denton Adult Education Scholarship Fund or Liberty Church. Manes Funeral Home in charge.
