U.S. Veteran Frank Russell, age 79, of Newport, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Newport Health and Rehabilitation Center. He attended Old Time Gospel Missionary Baptist Church and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nova Russell and his son Tony Russell. He is survived by his wife, Marie Erby Russell of Newport; son, Donnie (Betty) Russell of Newport; daughter Sonya (Norm) Hairr of Morristown; stepchildren, Bobby (Debbie) Erby, Kathy (Wayne) Sawyer; grandchildren, Brian (Julie) Russell, Dalphine Russell, Stacie (Joe) Worley, April (Daryl) Jenkins all of Newport; Ashley (Dillion) Hairr of Morristown; brother, Ralph Byrd of Dandridge; sister, Marjorie Beck of Newport; daughter-in-law, Darlene Jenkins of Newport; and a host of other family and friends. Funeral services will be held 7:00 pm Tuesday, October 30, 2012 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Josh Black and Rev. Glen Ball officiating. Everyone is to meet at Manes Funeral Home by 10:30 am Wednesday, October 31, 2012 to go in precession to Hills Union Cemetery for the burial. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Manes Funeral prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Old Time Gospel Baptist Church, 445 Beech Street, Newport, TN, 37821 or Antioch Baptist Church, 2524 Indian Creek Road, Dandridge, TN, 37725.
