YATES, ULYSS - age 80, of Maryville, passed away Friday afternoon, May 28, 1999 at Blount Memorial Hospital. Member of Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Retired from ALCOA and a member of The 25-Year Club. Preceded in death by wife, Delcie Marie McCall Yates; parents, Lonzie W. and Lillie Ridge Yates Tipton; brothers, L.J., Otis and Bob Yates; sisters, Georgia Jones and Esta Jackson. Survivors: daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and James McCammon of Maryville, Lillie and J.P. Johnson of Knoxville, Vivian and Sam Waycaster of Maryville; son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Linda (Cooper) Yates of Maryville; grandson and wife, Adam and Crystal Johnson of Seymour; grandson, Matthew Waycaster of Maryville; granddaughters and husbands, Brenda and Michael Wilkinson of Knoxville, Sherri and Bradley Payne, Lisa and Wesley Gibson, all of Maryville; great-grandson, Zachary Payne; step-grandchildren and spouses, Sammy and Kathy Waycaster of Maryville, Beverly and Clayton Cox of Knoxville; sister, Anna Fishburn Hord of Maryville; brothers, John Yates of Maryville, Earnest Yates of Seymour; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service 4:00 p.m. Sunday, May 30, 1999 at Miller Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Ralph Patton, Rev. Clifton Hearon and Rev. A.J. Crawford officiating. Interment 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 31, 1999 at Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:30-4:00 p.m. Sunday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
