Jo Nell Shults, age 74 of Cosby passed away peacefully at home Saturday, March 17, 2007 after a brief struggle with cancer. She was a member of Denton Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnie and Georgia Jenkins; infant brother, Crofford. She is survived by her husband, Duaine Shults of Cosby; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Lisa Penland Shults of Maryvill, Tn.; granddaughter, Madalyn Shults; grandson, Ashley and wife Kylee Shults all of Maryville; aunt, Dorothy Matthews of Knoxville with whom she was raised as a sister. Also she is survived by several cousins. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday night at Brown Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Denton Baptist Church. The body will lie in state from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in the McMillian Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the McMillian Cemetery Fund c/o Cocke County Bank or to the Cocke County Animal Shelter. Brown Funeral Home is in charge.
