TYSON, SHERYL (CHERRY) LOUISE (ANDERSON) - age 60 of Strawberry Plains, TN, passed away 1:50 p.m., Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at her home after a brave and courageous battle with cancer. Cherry was born July 11, 1948 and was a loyal and faithful charter member of Fellowship Christian Church, Luttrell, TN. Preceded in death by: father, Reverend Frank Anderson; mother, Mildred (Hundley) Anderson; brothers, Robert (Bob) Anderson, and Paul Anderson. Survivors: loving and devoted husband of 39 years, Wilbur Tyson; sons, Kevin Tyson of Strawberry Plains, Kasey and Jessica Tyson of Knoxville; granddaughters, April Whitney Tyson (Boo), and Cailyn Rayne Tyson (Doddle-Bug); sisters and brothers-in-law, Ella Roberts, and Johnnie McCurry of Corryton, Laverne and Terrance Bates of Blaine, Meryle and Boyd Kitts, and Jenny Brown of Luttrell, Beverly and Tip Bailey of Crystal River, FL; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lynn Anderson and Judy Anderson of Luttrell, Jeryle and Sarah Anderson, Jimmy and Mickie Anderson of Knoxville, TN; a host of nieces and nephews; special great niece and church partner, Abby Marie Stroupe of Blaine. The family would like to express special thanks to: Florence Wrancher with U. T. hospice, and gracious neighbors for the wonderful meals, Barbara Trent, Joyce Cameron, Mac and Donna Mull and Rob and Dot Tyson, and best friend Gayle Lovell, of Sevierville of many years, and her loyal caregivers that helped her with her battle until she went to be with the Lord, Jenny Brown and Beverly Bailey. Family will receive friends Friday 6 to 8 with funeral service to follow at 8:00 p.m. in the chapel at Cooke Mortuary. Reverend James Russell, Pastor and friend, and Reverend Dewayne Kitts, nephew. Family and friends will meet Saturday at Cooke Mortuary to proceed to Dyer Cemetery for 11:00 a.m. interment. Pallbearers will be nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Men's and Women's Sunday School classes of Fellowship Christian Church.
