He was a Deacon and member of High Ridge Baptist Church. Loyd loved his family and friends. He was preceded in death by: son, Jackie Britton; parents, Robert and Bessie Lawson Britton. Survivors: wife of 55 years, Blanche Merrick Britton; son, Wade Britton, Paint Rock; daughter, Teresa Rucker, Lenoir City and fiancée' Roger Adams, Greeneville; granddaughter, Brandie Rucker; grandson, Josh Rucker and fiancé Delilah Caldwell; grandson, Michael Britton, Paint Rock; two very special great grandsons, Joseph Britton and Nathanuael Rucker; sister, Mrs. Hubert (Verna) Rolen, Loudon; sister-in-law, Eva Woods; nieces and nephews. Very special people in his life were: Mary Trout, Clinton, who he loved like a daughter; Shawn and Helen Thompson, Kingston; Joyce Johnson, Lenoir City. The family would like to thank everyone who has touched his life with love, compassion and care during his illness. Family and friends will meet at the Loudon Funeral Home, 9:45 a.m. Tuesday to leave in funeral procession to Tennessee Chapel Cemetery for a 10:30 a.m. graveside service, Rev. Bill Treadway officiating. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday, Loudon Funeral Home.
