MILLER, JIMMIE H. - age 84 of Dandridge passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2000 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. He was a retired cabinet maker of Magnavox and was a member of the Dandridge First United Methodist Church for some 70 years. Jimmie was a U.S. Army veteran having served in World War II and was a member of the V.F.W. Post #3380, the Dandridge Senior Citizens, former member of the Dandridge City Council, Charter member of the Dandridge Volunteer Fire Dept. and the Jefferson Co. Rescue Squad where he was the Squad's Treasurer since its beginning. He was the son of the late John C. "Cal" Miller, Sr. and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Corbett Miller. Preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Reese Miller and brother, John C. Miller, Jr. Survivors: daughter & son in law, Jann and Rick Davis of Chattanooga; granddaughter, Jamie Davis and grandson, Jeremy Davis both of Chattanooga; brothers, Howard C. Miller of Morristown and Jason Miller of Dandridge; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services, Thursday evening, 7 p.m. at the Dandridge First United Methodist Church with Rev. Hugh Kilgore officiating. Interment graveside services, Friday, 11 a.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Dandridge First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 8 Dandridge, Tenn. or the Jefferson Co. Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 726,Dandride, Tenn. 37725. Family will receive friends Thursday evening 6-7 p.m. prior to services at the church. Arrangements by Farrar Funeral Home, Dandridge.
