UNDERWOOD, CHARLENE R (WENDY) - woke up with Jesus December 10, 2005, after a hard fought battle with cancer. She was retired from the Knox County School System where she worked as a meat specialist in the cafeteria at Northwest Middle School. She was of the Baptist faith. She is preceded in death by husband Ted Underwood Sr. parents, Charles and Ina Mae Beets and infant brother Clyde Beets. Survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Jack Cochran, Jeff Underwood and Tom Underwood grandsons, Jackie Cochran and Tyler Cochran grand dogs, Roscoe, who would watch over her and keep her company throughout her fight and T.J., all of Knoxville brothers and sisters-in-law, Glen and Bernice Beets, Claude and Ellie Beets, Clarence and Barbara Beets, all of Knoxville, Chloman and Jean Beets of McDonald, Ohio sisters, Veldon Baldwin of LaFollette, TN, and Shirley Ghormley of Kansas City, MO, Charlotte and Jay Dixon of Cincinnati, OH. A special Thank You goes to Shirley Ghormley for all the help given by her in caring for our mom, she has been a blessing. The family will receive friends Monday, December 12, 2005, from 6-8 with services at 8 pm at Woodhaven Funeral Home on Edgemoor Rd., in Claxton. Graveside service will be on Tuesday at 11 am at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home by 10:45. Charlie Reynolds officiating.
