TROTTER, ANNA LEAKE - age 89, of Knoxville, passed away Friday, June 6, 2003, at Ft. Sanders Parkwest Hospital. A member of Concord United Methodist Church since 1954, Mrs. Trotter had been active in United Methodist Women, the Friendship Club, Lydia Circle and the Special Studies Sunday School Class. In addition, she taught the Women's Wesley Sunday School Class for several years. She was born in Knoxville, Tenn., February 27, 1914, graduated Carter High School and Hiwassee College and attended the University of Tennessee. A retired teacher of primary and elementary schools in Anderson, Loudon and Knox Counties, she began her career as a 1st grade teacher at Mascot, taught the 6th grade at Farragut Elementary for many years and retired after teaching several years at the first Farragut Primary School. She was a member of N.E.A., T.R.T.A., K.C.R.T.A. and AARP. Mrs. Trotter is survived by her husband, Luther Ray Trotter son, Truman Ray Trotter and daughter-in- law, LeAnn Luttrell Trotter sister, Reva Phillips of Alabama brothers, Richard Leake and wife, Francis of California, Glen Leake of Nevada and Floyd Leake of Maryville, Tenn. grandchildren, Robert Trotter and wife, Jeannie of North Carolina, Alisa Trotter O'Toole of North Carolina, Christina Davis and husband, Calvin of Knoxville great-grandchildren, Kathleen Griffin, Brianna Davis, Kathryn "Katie" Trotter, Caroline Anna Trotter, and Joseph Welborn, and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 7:30 p.m. Monday at Concord United Methodist Church with Rev. Catherine Nance officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Family and friends will meet at Woodlawn Cemetery, Tuesday, for a 10 a.m. interment service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Concord United Methodist Church, 11020 Roane Dr., Knoxville, Tenn. 37922. Arrangements by Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel.
