He is preceded in death by infant son, Charles Robert; parents, Jacob and Dora Kidd Godfrey; brothers, Charles, L.V. and Gene Godfrey; sister, Deloras Teffeteller. Survived by wife of 63 years Edith Godfrey; son and daughter in law, Joe and Tamela Godfrey of Maryville; daughter and son in law, Elaine and Jeff Callahan of Flat Rock, North Carolina; grandchildren, Jessica, Justin and Ethan Callahan Leanne Lane, Casey Taylor and Travis Sparks; great grandchildren, Lauren and Jeremy; special nephew, Ron Godfrey of Maryville; sisters in law, Vernell Godfrey and June Godfrey; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00PM Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home. Funeral service 8:00 PM Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel Rev. Billy Carrigan officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 AM Thursday at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for the graveside and interment service with military honors.
