Fred A. Boling, age 83 of Maryville, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2005 at Colonial Hills Nursing Center. He was a member of Maryville Church of Christ, retired from ALCOA and a member of United Steelworkers Local # 309, veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II. Preceded in death by wife, Alda Joyce Boling; parents, George Bishop and Mary Reagan Boling; and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include sons, Gary and Dennis Boling both of Maryville; grandson, Michael Boling of Atlanta, Georgia; sister, Ruth Whele of New Orleans, Louisiana; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Minister Dan Chambers officiating. Interment service 11 a.m. Thursday at Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hope for Today, Cancer Support Group, c/o Piney Grove Baptist Church, 536 Blockhouse Road, Maryville TN 37803. Family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
