RUSSELL, ROY JAMES - 86, of Harrison, TN passed away at his home on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 after a lengthy illness. Mr. Russell was a long time member of Northminster Presbyterian Church having served as a deacon, elder, and a trustee. He was a Past Master of Harrison Masonic Lodge No. 114 where, in 2008, he was honored for fifty years of faithful service. He honorably served in the U.S. Navy during W.W. II and was retired from Vulcan Materials Company. He was preceded in death by his father, Nelson Russell, his mother and stepfather, Ethel and Linton Jones; brother, Arthur Russell, and one sister, Drotha Townson. Survivors include his wife, Martha Craig Russell; daughters, Belinda (Richard) Howard; Royellen Lamarre, and Mary (Jeff) Lee; six grandchildren: Lara, Russell, Monica, Sharon, Jamie, and Jasen; eight great-grandchildren: Alex, Tori, Sean, Stephen, Eric, Hailey, Keri, and Lilli and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 12:30 until 2:30 PM on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at the North Chapel with Rev. Laura Becker officiating. Interment will be at Chattanooga National Cemetery at 11:30 AM on Monday, November 8, 2010 with a Masonic Funeral service and Military Honors. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Northminster Presbyterian Church, 4791 Hal Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37416. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Houston, James "Cass" Millsaps, Louis Brannon, members of Northminster Presbyterian Church, and members of Harrison Masonic Lodge, No. 114.
