Barbara Jean Murphy Curtis, age 61 of Maryville, passed away Monday March 8, 2010 after a courageous battle against cancer. She was a wonderful loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an active member of the Betrayed Retiree Organization. Preceded in death by parents, Leonard L. and Gene Murphy; brother, Leonard L. Murphy Jr.; father and mother in law, James and Ora Bell Curtis; brother in laws, Oscar, Jimmy, Mikey, and Tommy Curtis; sister in law Margaret Curtis. Survived by husband of 43 years, Charles Curtis; daughter and son in law; Robin and Darrel Pharris; son and daughter in law, Mark and Anice Curtis; grandchildren, Courtney, Christa, Zachary, Alison, and Daniel; brother and sister in law, Allen and Janice Murphy; nephews, Jamey and Richard Murphy; sister and brother in laws, Evelyn and Larry Cummings, Shelia and Robin Lane; Debbie Curtis; brother and sisters in law, Ricky and Debbie Curtis, Danny and Donna Curtis, William Curtis; several other nieces and nephews; her Betrayed Retiree family. Graveside and interment service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday March 11, 2010 at Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Betrayed Retiree Organization, PO Box 427 Alcoa, TN 37701 so they can continue their fight against Alcoa Corporation. The family would like to thank Dr. Petty and Dr. Schrock and their staff and also the OICU unit at Blount Memorial Hospital.
