(BEAR) - age 59 of Knoxville, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2005 at U.T. Medical Center due to injuries he received from an accident. He was a member and Deacon of Churchwell Ave. Baptist Church, and worked for 37 years at the Y12 Plant in Oakridge as an Environmental Technician. Attended East Tennessee State University, and the University of Tennessee. Preceded in death by his father Carl S. Melton Sr.. Mr. Melton is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Sandra Dockery Melton daughter Amy Beth Melton and son Christopher Carl Melton all of Knoxville mother Juanita Melton brother Samuel Thomas Melton both of Knoxville sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Margaret and Edgar Scruggs of Nashville mother in law, Lois S. Dockery nephew, Samuel T. Melton II of Knoxville. Memorial services 7:30 P.M. Friday, February 11, 2005, at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel with Rev. Wayne McMillan officiating. At Mr. Meltons request, his body was cremated. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fulton High School Athletics Department, P.O. Box 27687 Knoxville, TN. 37927 in his name. Family will receive friends 6 to 7:30 P.M. Friday, at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel.
