John Clay Huskey, age 88, of Newport, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family and two very special friends, Juanita Walker and Ruth Ann Ramsey, Thursday afternoon, July 31, 2003.
He attended Cosby Church of Christ.
Mr. Huskey was preceded in death by his parents, William and Margaret Caton Huskey; wife, Lillian DeBona Huskey; son, Clayton Huskey; and brother, Troy Huskey.
He is survived by his daughters, Diana Ottinger of Newport and Judy Scott of White Pine; daughter and son-in-law, Freida and Michael Epley of Newport; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Toby Huskey of Arkansas, and Chris and Sheila Huskey of Newport; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Patty and Jack Davis of Cosby; stepdaughter, Barbara Williams of Florida; stepson and daughter-in-law, Henry and Bonnie DeBona of Florida; and grandchildren, Cindy Anders of Cookeville, TN, Lisa Pettus of Dandridge, Janice Rodgers and Roberta Johnson of Arkansas, Renee Brezeale of White Pine, and Michael Ottinger, Rodney Huskey, John Huskey and Kaitlyn Huskey, all of Newport.
Additional survivors include nine great-grandchildren, numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 12:00 noon Saturday at Manes Funeral Home with Lonnie McCarter officiating.
The family received friends from 10 a.m. until 12:00 noon prior to the service.
Interment was at Union Cemetery.
Manes Funeral Home in charge.
