Euvilla “Phyllis” Cothran Massey, age 85 of Morristown, died Tuesday July 2, 2013 at Morristown-Hamblen Hospital. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lon Massey; parents, Melvin and Lucinda Cotheran; brother, Fairdy; sisters, Oda, Essie, Sally, Allene, Alma and Laney. She is survived by her sister, Eliza Huskey; sister-in-law, Laura Cotheran; many nieces, nephews and special friends. She and her husband Lon lived in Guam, for 38 years. She was a professional bowler winning many tournaments and enjoyed playing golf and traveling. For the past 2 and a half years she had lived at the Regency Retirement Village in Morristown where she attended the Regency Community Church. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:30 pm Friday, July 5, 2013 with funeral service following at 2:30 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Fred Cagle and Rev. Fred Lehrer officiating. Burial will be follow in Cotheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to a charity of choice.
