Burgin, age 85, of Knoxville, TN, has gone home to be with the Lord and his family Wednesday, November 4, 2015. Darrahl was a long time member and Deacon of Meridian Baptist Church and a devout Gideon. He retired after 38 years of faithful service from Gerber Baby Foods. He is preceded in death by parents, Freeman and Neva Burgin; sister, Rose Burgin; brothers, Eugene and Homer Burgin. Darrahl is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Geralyn Burgin; daughter, Dwan (Bill) Martin; son, Randy Burgin; grandchildren, Jason (Stacey) Cox, Brandon (Toni) Cox; great-grandchildren, Peyton and Neyland Cox; brother, JN Burgin; and many nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Jason Cox as primary care giver and the staff of UT Hospice for an excellent job. Thank you to our extended family and friends that have sent pictures and cards throughout the years. The family will receive friends Friday, November 6, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Dana Fachman officiating. Family and friends will meet Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Berry Highland South Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. interment.
