Mrs. Okla Rollins Ellison, 85, passed away Sunday, December 05, 2010 at the High Point Regional Hospital following several years of declining health.
Mrs. Ellison was born in Hartford, TN, May 8, 1925, a daughter of Creed and Lottie Jenkins Rollins. She retired from Drexel Heritage after 25 years of service and she was a member of the Thomasville Church of Christ. Mrs. Ellison enjoyed reading, flowers and gardening and she traveled extensively. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Willie “Bill” Ellison; two sisters, Maxine Moore and June Holt, and a brother, Vaughn Rollins.
Surviving are a daughter, Myra D. Ellison of High Point; a son, Gary L. Ellison and wife Jane of Gainesville, GA; three granddaughters, Vanessa Ellison of Dalton, GA, Jennifer and Cynthia Ellison, both of Houston TX; and a great-grandson, Lucas Ellison.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Monday at 8 p.m. at the Davis Funerals and Cremations Chapel by Alan Martin. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 7 until 8 p.m. Graveside service will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Union Cemetery in Newport, TN.
