Allene Shropshire, age 86, of Newport, went home to be with her Heavenly Father, Wednesday, November 30, 2016. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Betty Shrophire; grandson, Dewayne Seay; and parents, Herbert and Goldie Fraizer. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, James “Pig” Shropshire; children, Louella (Willard) Laws, Linda (Darrell) Hall, Mary (B.J.) Forrester, Nina (Edward) Wines, Faye (Danny) Dockery, Jimmy (Treva) Shropshire, Ronnie (Renee) Shropshire and Tim Shropshire; nineteen grandchildren; twenty four great grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; brothers, J. C. , Jim (Pat), and Leroy Frazier; sisters, Bo Ball, Eldise Smelcer, Beth (Gene) James; brothers-in-law, Wayne (Polly) Shropshire, Gary (Debbie) Shrophire, and Johnny Ball; sister-in-law, Trudy Frazier, Lorene Hartsell, Willame Hux; also many other family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at Rural Medical, Johnson City Medical and her special nurse Pradip for the wonderful care they gave Allene. Graveside services will be held 2:00 pm Friday, December 2, 2016 at the Cotheran Cemetery, with Rev. Billy Ball and Rev. Michael Allen officiating.
