Shropshire, Jr., age 62, of Newport, passed away March 4, 2001, at his home, after a short illness. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Shropshire; sister, Ellise Shropshire; and brother, J.F. Shropshire. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Roberta Shropshire, of Boston, Massachusetts; daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Donald Munn, of Newport; sons, Todd Shropshire and Franklin Shropshire, and daughter, Stacy Shropshire, all of Newport; grandchildren, Nichole, Mattie and Kyle Shropshire, all of Boston; Chelsea Shropshire and Kaden Brown, both of Newport; mother, Ella O’Dell Shropshire; brothers, James (Pig), Wayne and Gary Shropshire; sisters, Lorene Hartsell and Willa Mae Hux, all of Newport; Bonnie Rutherford, of Dandridge; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be 8 p.m., Tuesday, at Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Jerry Fancher officiating, with burial 11 a.m., Wednesday, at Dutch Bottoms Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Tuesday, prior to the funeral at Manes Funeral Home. Manes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
