U.S. Veteran Oake Moore May 17, 1932 March 18, 2015
Oake Moore, age 82, of Strawberry Plains, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at Parkwest Hospital after a brief illness. He was a wonderful, father, brother, and grandfather. He was a member of English Mountain Christian Church and a veteran of the U S Air Force during the Korean War. He retired as a Process Engineer from BASF, formerly American Enka. He attended the Cleveland Institute of Music and the University of Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Patsy Jane Moore and his parents, Charlie and Elizabeth Ford Moore. He is survived by his children, Pam Luketic and husband Ken, Laura Cox and husband Ben, and Johnny Moore; sisters Paula Inman, Norma Mooneyham and Imogene Webb; sister-in-law, Anna Bellamy; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren and other family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm-3:00 pm Saturday, March 21, 2015, at English Mountain Christian Church in Newport with funeral services following at 3:00 pm, with Rev. Rick Carr officiating. Special thanks to the Ben Atchley Veterans Facility staff for their loving care.
