(June 1, 1925 - December 31, 2007) Burdette Johnson Marra, age 82, born, June 1, 1925 in Cold Springs, NC, went to be with the Lord, December 31, 2007, after a lingering illness. She was of the Baptist Faith, and a very devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam W. Marra in (1991); loving parents, Carmon Roy (1959) and Cordia McGaha Johnson (1974) of Black’s Mountain, near Grassy Fork; sister, Nancy Johnson Breeden (1981) and her husband, Artemus Breeden (1979) of Maryville; and brother, Walter L.(Dock) Johnson ( 1984) and his wife, Aubry Lee McGaha Johnson (1963) of Newport; infant brother and sister, Wade and Carbezene Johnson. She is survived by her beloved sons, and their wives, Paul Ford of Newport, Dwight and Denise Reed Marra of Newport, Anthony and Caroline Whitehead Marra of Dandridge, Darius and Tracy Ebinger Marra of Morristown; step-son and his wife, Timothy and Edie Ford of Morristown; special grandchildren, Dana and Chandie (Marra) Clark of Parrottsville, Whitney, Christian, and Natalia Marra of Morristown; sister –in-law, Mary Ellen Johnson Brown of Arden, NC; also several nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and friends. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Friday, January 4, 2008 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Troy Bradley and Brother Mike Hensley officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm Thursday, January 3, 2008 at Manes Funeral Home. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Manes Funeral Home in charge.
