She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Vance Overton; parents, Charlie and Letha Ottinger Kilgore; and sisters, Louise Franklin and Blanche Moore. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Peggy Kilgore; grandchildren, Melanie James and Melinda Kilgore; great-granddaughters, Hanna James and Riley Kilgore, all of Newport; sisters, Irene Woods, of Knoxville, Mary Owenby, of Dandridge, Sible France, of Newport, and Eva Smith, of Parrottsville; brother, Jimmy Kilgore, of Greenville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2003, at the Manes Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in Union Cemetery. Family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
