MARY FRANCES PARTON (Carland) Mary Frances Parton (Carland) passed away early this morning after a short illness from unknown medical complications. Born in Palm Beach County on November 26, 1927. She graduated from Palm Beach High School in the class of 1944. Frances married Hoyl C. Parton in 1948 and had two children Wayne and Steve Parton. In 1949 Frances contracted polio and walked with assistance of crutches for the remainder of her life. Frances never let her disability keep her from a fully active live and she fought for handicap accessible facilities for churches and grocery stores. She worked at Crippled Children's Society in Palm Beach during the 1950s. Frances attended Haverhill Baptist Church and was also church secretary for a time. Frances also worked for Belvedere Baptist Church as a secretary for a number of years. Mary Frances moved to Tallahassee, Florida in 1982 to retire with her husband Hoyl Parton. Hoyl Parton passed away in 1997. Mary Frances is survived by her two sons Steve and Wayne Parton and her grandson Jake. Interment will take place in Hendersonville, NC.
