Charles Fields Harrison Jr., 95, of Maryville passed away Saturday, February 20, 2016. Mr Harrison was born May 6, 1920 in Wymore, Nebraska.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Fields Harrison Sr.; mother, Inie Evans Harris; brother, Evan Harrison.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Marian; children, Ellen Harrison of Chickamauga, Ga; Elaine (Jim) Jollay of Maryville, Cheryl Pratt of Oak Ridge, David (Oana) Harrison of Knoxville; 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Mr Harrison was a chemist and retired from Oak Ridge National Laboratory and Eastalco Aluminim Company, Frederick, MD. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a photographer in New Guinea and the Philippines. He was active in the Boy Scouts in Oak Ridge serving as an Explorer Leader for years.
He was an active member of Fairview United Methodist Church, Maryville. In Lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the church.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, February 23, 2016, at McCammon-Ammons-Click Chapel, Maryville, with Rev. Mickey Rainwater officiating. The interment will follow in Anderson Memorial Gardens, Oak Ridge. The family will receive friends 12:00-1:00pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
