Barbara Jean Wilson Neas, of Newport, went to be with the Lord April 5, 2006 after a lengthy illness, at her home surrounded by her family and friends.
Jean was a faithful member of Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church. She was a former employee of Valentine-Shults Hospital and she retired from Baptist Hospital of Cocke County.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Neas; and parents, William A. and Isa B. (Gregg) Wilson; brothers, Bill and Joe Wilson; and sister, Wanda F. Wilson.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, W.L. and Lisa Neas; sister, Beatrice Brooks and husband L.D. of White Pine; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Smith, Della Wilson all of Newport and Mary Wilson of Morristown; grandchildren, Beth, Mollie and Rachel; several nieces and nephews and special caregivers, Sue Crum, Judy Messer, Cheryl Hartsell and Elena O'Bryon, Ruth Whitlock and Dinah Valentine.
Funeral services will be held 8 p.m. Saturday, April 8, 2006 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Craig Ward and Chaplain Terry Norman officiating. Burial will be held 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 9, 2006 in Union Cemetery.
The family will receive fiends from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral services.
