Bob Gamble is in
Bob Gamble picked up and has already turned in his petition to run for the 6th District, Sevier County Commissioner and as such has announced his candidacy for that position.
Gamble is a native of Seymour, lives with his wife Charlotte in the Monticello Estates. Gamble has been married to Charlotte for 41 years and they have two children, Brian and Kelly, and two grandchildren, Magan and Lexie, all of whom reside in Seymour. Brian is employed by the Sevier County Electric System while his wife Connie (Collins), works at UT Hospital. Kelly is a nurse working in Knoxville. Charlotte is employed by a large law firm in Knoxville.
Gamble, who has recently retired as supervisor after 39 years of service at KUB, now seeks the office of County Commissioner. “I’ve been wanting to serve the community for some time, however, due to KUB rules, I had to retire to fulfill my desire,” Gamble told The Herald.
Gamble states his experience working with KUB and the Sevier County Road Superintendent gives him an insight to working with the county.
“I know that Bob would be an excellent County Commissioner because of all the good he has already done for the county and what he plans to accomplish,” Charlotte stated.
Some of Gamble’s past accomplishments are that he has been Past Master of Sevier Lodge 334, on Boyds Creek, was instrumental in developing Bower’s Field and Seymour Community Park,
The growth of Seymour is a concern of Gamble’s. The amount of traffic has become a factor. “I would work with state representative Richard Montgomery and Jonas Smelcer, Sevier County Road Superintendent, and other commissioners to improve the roads,” Gamble said.
One of the major changes Gamble has focused on is the over crowding of the once serene Seymour community.
“If supporting some turn lanes on Chapman Hwy, the congestion of traffic, conveniences for the elderly and the overall benefit and enjoyment of a good safe Seymour community is what people are interested in, then they should vote for me,” stated Gamble.
