He served as pastor of several churches in Dandridge and Knoxville for several years. Preceded in death by parents, Nelson and Georgia Riley ; 3 brothers and 1 sister; Survivors: wife, Mary Ruth Riley ; daughter and son-in-law, Beth A. and Charles Sheddan; son, Carroll Edward (Ed) Riley , all of Knoxville; grandchildren, Mari Beth Hillard and husband Kevin of Strawberry Plains, Wesley Sheddan of Knoxville; great grandson, Austin Peyton Hillard of Strawberry Plains; sisters, Imogene Riley , Betty Riley , and brother, Ben Riley , all of Kodak. Funeral service 8 p.m. Friday at Stevens Chapel, Rev. Billy Bush, Rev. Larry Young, and Rev. Mike Murphee officiating. Family and friends will meet at the entrance to Eastview Memorial Gardens at 10:45 a.m. Saturday for a 11 a.m. graveside service and interment. Pallbearers will be nephews.
