Wright A. (W. A.) Mathis age 96 of Lenoir City, passed away Monday, December 18, 2006 at Ft. Loudoun Medical Center. W. A. was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was a retired route salesman for Jewel Tea Company. W. A. loved gardening and flowers. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Amy Brown Mathis; parents, William Jefferson and Mary Depew Mathis; sisters, Zannie, Vicki and Dora; brothers, Carl and Paul; step-daughter, Pat Clayton. W. A. is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary L. Mathis; children, Richard Mathis and wife, Devon of Knoxville, Carolyn Berrong and husband, Charles, of Knoxville, William Mathis and wife, Kathy of Vermont, Robert Mathis of Lenoir City, Brenda Mathis of Cincinnati, OH and Beverly Mathis of Knoxville; step-son, Gene Lynn of Lenoir City; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday with funeral services to follow at 8 p.m. in the Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eddie Chasteen and Dr. Charles Jenkins officiating. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m. Friday and proceed to Loudon County Memorial Gardens for 11 a.m. graveside services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fellowship Baptist Church, P. O. Box 623, Lenoir City, TN 37771. Click Funeral Home, 109 Walnut Street, Lenoir City is serving the family of W. A. Mathis.
