He was drafted in 1951 and served in the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War with the US Army. Preceded in death by parents, Cal and Annie Shields Ledbetter; brothers, Erwin, Ernest, Roy, Leonard, Toye and Otis Ledbetter; sister, Kate Jones. Survivors: include wife, Mary E. Ledbetter of Maryville; sons, Paul Matthew Ledbetter, Jr. of Covington, Ga., Michael Howard Ledbetter of Maryville; daughters, Rebecca MacKenzie and Mary K. McDonald both of Maryville; grandchildren, Lora Elizabeth Greene, Jennifer A. Mills, Ashley Watson, Lisa Ledbetter, Hunter McDonald, Sarah and Leannah Ledbetter, Aengus MacKenzie; sister, Ruby Davis of Maryville; and beloved nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday January 14, 2002 at West Miller's Cove Cemetery with Rev. George Macht officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation.
