Jessie Bible, 85, of Bybee, passed away Monday afternoon, January 10, at the Baptist Hospital of Cocke County following a lingering illness.
Mrs. Bible was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Lodge #461 of Newport for 35 years.
Mrs. Bible was preceded in death by parents, Lee and Jim Henry; husbands, J.E. Rader, Shade Wise and Glen Bible; sister, Stella (Tootse) Barger; brothers, Bill and Sam Henry; and special brother-in-law, Joe Fowler.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Von Smith, with whom she made her home for 40 years, and Emma and Jim Hill of Newport; grandchildren and spouses are Michael and Sherrie Smith, Gray and Janie Hurley, Ronnie Hurley, Larry and Carol Hurley, Marsha and Connie Ball, and Jeffery Hurley, all of Newport; great-grandchildren are Trevor and Kreg Smith, Louanna Ottinger, Tommy Hurley, Eric Hurley, Nancy and Sara Hurley, and Amy and C.J. Ball, all of Newport; devoted sisters, Mable Fowler of Parrottsville, Virginia and Hubert Jenkins of Newport, and Josephine Emmitt of Gastonia, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews; a special friend and doctor, David Kickliter; and special nurses of SMHH, Cheryl Hartsell and Pat Hurley.
Funeral service will be 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Manes Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Robert Walker and Rev. Ed Frazier officiating.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Clay Creek Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. followed by services by the Order of Eastern Star and Wednesday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
