On Sunday afternoon, December 10, 2006, Emma Ruth Hurley Hill, went to be with her Lord on her 75th birthday, after a long painful illness. She was a devoted mother and friend to all who knew her. She was one of the most unselfish, person that had ever lived, meaning she always put other people’s needs before her own. Emma will be missed so much by her children and special friends in her life. She was preceded in death by the father of her five children, Jr. Hurley; husband, James A. Hill; son, Ronnie Hurley; and her mother, Jessie Bible. She is survived by daughter and family, Marsha, Connie, Amy and C J Ball, where she made her home; sons and family, Gray and Janie Hurley, Tommy , Aubree, and Whitney Hurley, Louanna and Mike, Sydne and Samatha Ottinger, Larry and Carol Hurley, Nancy Hurley, Sarah and Jason Cox, Jeffery Hurley and Shawn, Eric and Stacy, Christopher and Katie Hurley, Ruby and Franklin, Keith and Jennifer, Arron Blazer special family; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Von Smith of Bybee; special and caring friends who stood by through all her sickness; Clarence and Joe Inman, Lon and Dean Ball, Ralph and Mary Eperson, Francis Edwards, Margie Lawson, Preacher Ed Fraizer, Preacher Tommy and Sandy Golman, Shelley Brown, Jane Stuart, Brenda Layman. Bonnie Allen, Debbie Caldwell, Ailene Costnr, Hattie McGaha, Ed and Pat Thompson; Cocke County Sheriff Department, Newport Police and Manes Funeral Home; special nurses at House Call, Anita Fraizer, Barbara McGaha, Darlene Shepherd, Alisha Shelton, Debbie Wiley and Lynn Parton.
Funeral Services will be held 8:00 pm Tuesday, December 12, 2006 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Preacher Ed Frazier and Preacher Tommy Golmon officiating. Burial will be 11:00 am Wednesday, December 13, 2006 in Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 pm Tuesday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral.
