(March 27, 1926 - July 20, 2010) U.S. Veteran Young John Gorman, age 84, of Maryville, formerly of Newport, passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Smoky View Baptist Church and a former member of Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church. He was a veteran having served in the U S Army during WWII. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mollie Gorman; brothers, Hugh, Floyd and Frank Gorman; sister, Ola Hudson. He is survived by his wife, Violet Gorman; sons, Steve Gorman and wife Patti, Keith Gorman; grandchildren, Chad Gorman and Stephanie Gorman all of Maryville. Funeral services will be held 7:00 pm Friday July 23, 2010 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be held 11:00 am Saturday, in Union Cemetery.
