Gilis Anderson Hunt age 82 of Maryville started his homecoming reunion early Tuesday morning, May 25, 2010 at Fairpark Health Care Center. He loved his Lord, his family and fishing. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a long-time member of Unity Baptist Church. Mr. Hunt was a retired supervisor from Alcoa Aluminum Company and owned and operated Five Point Cleaners with his brother. Preceded in death by: Father& Mother, Erskin & Josie Hunt; Brother, Cornelius (Shorty) Hunt; Sister & Brother-in-law, Elma Ruth & Loyd Ward. Survivors include: Wife of 61 years, Beulah Hunt; Son, Larry (Kathy) Hunt; Daughter, Kathy Hunt; Grand-daughter, Tiffany (Daniel) Harris; Grandsons, Andy (Leah) McCorkle all of Maryville and Josh (Shauna) Hunt; Great-Granddaughter, Bryana Hunt of Knoxville; Special Niece, Karen (Jimmy) Runyon; Sisters-in-law, Edith Starbuck & Marie Hunt; Foster Brother, Ricky (Kathy) Burchfield; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Fairpark Health Care Center and especially his CNA’s for their above and beyond care and love of Mr. Hunt. You were truly his second family. Funeral service will be at 7:30 PM, Thursday, May 27, 2010 at Smith West Chapel with Rev. Barry Crowson, Rev. Jimmy Runyon, and Rev. Andy McCorkle officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, May 28, 2010 at Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to: Unity Baptist Church, 803 Howard Jones Road, Maryville, TN 37801.
