HELTON, BRUCE F. - age 77 of Maryville, died Thursday, November 15, 2001 at Fort Sanders Regional Hospital. He was a member of Springview Baptist Church. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and was an avid hiker and Old Harp singer. Preceded in death by parents, Ernest P. & Mary Alice Helton; brother, Hugh Wells. Survivors include wife, Sally Jo Helton; daughter, Rebecca Faye Helton of Pontiac, Mich.; daughter and son in law, Cynthia Kay & Johnnie Williams of Clarkston, Mich.; grandchildren, Donna Lynn & husband, Donald Schram, Susan Denise Williams, Brandon Seth & wife, Marisa Williams, Jessica Marie Williams; great grandchild, Aaron Michael Schram; sisters and brothers in law, Ernestine & Bob Debusk and Doris & Howard Hendrix all of Knoxville; brothers, Carl Gordon Helton and wife, Roberta of Maryville, Ray Helton and wife, Nancy of Calhoun, Tenn., Olin Helton of Maryville, Winston Helton and wife, Lyda of Knoxville; sister in law, Almeda Helton of Maryville; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday November 18, 2001 in the West Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Rev. Tim Hale and Rev. Jeff Helton officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Assoc. or the Diabetes Assoc.
