Gladys Mae McLemore Cabe, age 82, of Newport, peacefully departed this world to join her Heavenly Father, on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family. She was a faithful Baptist and avid collector of Coca-Cola memorabilia, she was a joy to those who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Junior McLemore and second husband of 58 years, Homer Cabe, Jr.; parents, Ruth and Clarence McLemore; sister, Cledia Covington; and infant brother Leon. She is survived by her children; David (Linda) McLemore, Marie (John) Dyke, Linda (Terry) Vineyard, Cindy Lindsey, Kathy (Shone) Coker and Mike (Lori) Cabe; grandchildren: Amy (Randy) Walker, Shea (Gus) Fancher, Renee (Jason) Williams, Jonathan Dyke, David (Angie)Vineyard, Christa (Kevin) Grahl, Jennifer Lindsey, Jessica (Steven) Hamlet, Courtney (Jarod) Young, Chasity Cabe (Josh Wall), Brody Cabe, Stephanie Russell and Chris Russell; great-grandchildren, Lily Walker, Austin Fancher, Addison Fancher, Alleah Fancher, Emily Williams, Faith Williams, Olivia Williams, Sara Williams, Tre Vineyard, Tyler Vineyard, Marissa Vineyard, Kayla Vineyard, Danyale Grahl, Ethan Grahl, Noah Hamlet, Harper Hamlet, Peyton Young, Jackson Young and Kinnlea Norwood. She is also survived by her honorary family members, Bill and Cindy Francis, Chris Grubb; and brother-in-law, R. B. McLemore; sister-in-law, Rachel Barnes; and several nieces, nephews and other family and friends. Special thanks and appreciation to all her caring friends and neighbors, Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice and Lincare. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm Friday, February 27, 2015 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Manson Lee officiating. Burial will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, February 28, 2015 in Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Friday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral services.
