Emmalee Clabo, 77, a longtime resident of Clarksville, Ohio, died 6:01 a.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2011, at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, Ohio. Her husband, Clyde Clabo, preceded her in death January 18, 1991. They were married August 10, 1951. Mrs. Clabo was born February 2, 1934, in Sevierville, Tenn., daughter of the late Grady and Eva Ownby Breeden. She and her husband owned Clabo 76 gas station in Clarksville, Ohio, from 1968–1978. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cross-stitching, quilting, and cooking. She was a past member of Sligo Baptist Church. Mrs. Clabo is survived by two sons, Ronald Clabo of Hillsboro, Ohio, and Donald (Sherri) Clabo of Clarksville, Ohio; a daughter, Clida (Charles) Mahaffey of Lebanon, Ohio; three brothers, Ralph (Dorothy) Breeden of Sevierville, Homer Breeden of Sevierville, and Fletcher (Shirley) Breeden of Sevierville; six sisters, Imogene Ogle of Sevierville, Joyce Brackins of Pigeon Forge, Tenn., Jane (Larry) Mize of Sevierville, Jettie (Steve) Clabo of Sevierville, Helen (Allen) Carver of Pigeon Forge, and Faye Trentham of Sevierville; four grandchildren, Emmalee (Greg) Whitaker of Mason, Ohio, Lori (Brian) Cassner of Hillsboro, Ohio, John (Jenni Owens) Clabo of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Scott (Kelly) Clabo of Waynesville, Ohio; six great-grandchildren, Caroline Whitaker, Amy Whitaker, Natalie Whitaker, Jonathan Clabo, William Cassner, and Mercedes Clabo; a brother-in-law, Newell (Louise) Clabo; and a sister-in-law, Jeanette (Robert) Beckwith. In addition to her husband and parents, a brother, Fred Breeden, is preceded in death. Funeral services will be noon Saturday, September 3, 2011, at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio. Burial will be in Clarksville Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m.–noon Saturday, September 3, 2011, at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home.
