Mary Evie Hardin Underwood, age 87, of Loudon, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2009 at the Loudon Healthcare Center. Mary was a member of West Broadway Baptist Church and a former employee of Charles H. Bacon Hosiery Mill. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Underwood Sr.; daughters, Brenda Sue Underwood and Carolyn Diane Underwood; grandsons, Jesse Roer, Eddie Coker; parents, Witt and Pearl Hardin; sisters, Willie Felty and Elizabeth Moats. Mary is survived by her children: Edward Underwood Jr. and wife, Teresa of Lenoir City, Debra Joyce Arden and husband, Clayton, Loudon, Lula Pearl Turner of Loudon, Sandra Tullis of Cleveland, and Sue Ellen Zachary and husband Clayton of Loudon; 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday with funeral services to follow at 3 p.m. in the Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Greg Jameson officiating. Interment will follow in the Loudon County Memorial Gardens. Click Funeral Home, 109 Walnut Street, Lenoir City is serving the Underwood family.
