BREWER, ROBERT LEE (BOB) - age 70, of Knoxville, passed away 7:50 p.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at St. Mary's North after a long battle with leukemia. He was an active member of Fountain City Presbyterian Church, a 50 year Mason, and had just become a Shriner. He was an East High School graduate of 1957, and worked in sales throughout his life. He was an avid sportsman and UT fan. He was a veteran of the US Army from 1961 to 1967, serving as a military policeman in France. He was "Santa" in the Fountain City Christmas Parade the last several years, and was preceded in death by his parents, Huck and Elva Brewer. Survived by: wife of 47 years, Judy Underwood Brewer; son, Robert L. Brewer, Jr. (Dawn); daughter, Jennifer Johnson Allison (Lake); much loved grandchildren, Brianna Johnson, Heather and Curt Brewer, and Brooke Allison. His grandchildren were the joy of his life. Brothers and sisters, Betty Branch (Johnny), Lynn Brewer (Pat), Pat Snyder (Jerry), and Wayne Brewer; several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff at Tennessee Cancer Specialists, especially Jennifer, Angie, and Buffy. Also, to the nurses at St. Mary's North and the infusion center for all their expert care and support. We also wish to thank everyone for calls, cards, visits, blood donations, and prayers during his illness. In lieu of flowers you may donate to Fountain City Presbyterian Church in his name. 500 Hotel Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37918. A memorial service will be held 7:00 p.m. Sunday, December 13, 2009 at Fountain City Presbyterian Church with Reverend Max Reddick officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. prior to the service at Fountain City Presbyterian Church.
