Jacob H. Wild, Sr., age 74, of Houston Valley Rd., Greeneville, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday morning, July 1, at his home.
He was a retired farmer and was of the Missionary Baptist faith.
He was the son of the late Jake and Winnie Ray Wild and was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Diane Wild; 3 brothers, Clura, Gonald, and Virgil Wild; also 4 sisters, Mary Belle Lowe, Beatrice Ballen, Ethel Shelton, and Rossie Blankenship.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Dixie Tweed Wild; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, James “Jim” E., Sr. and Carolyn Wilds, Jacob “Jack” H. Jr., and Donna Wilds, of Greeneville; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and harold Foshie, Kathy and Dr. Joe Austin, and Vickie and Charles Shipley, of Greeneville; grandchildren, Jacob “Buddy” H. Wilds, III, Brigette Wilds, James “Jim” E. Wilds, Jr., Becky Wilds, Scott, Tammy and Nathan Foshie, Rachel and Aaron Austin, and Lucas and Ashley Shipley; great-granddaughter, Kirstin Wilds; brother, Jerry Wild; 3 sisters, Robbie Bedenbaugh, Nuffie Arrington, and Phyllis Wilds; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Kiser Funeral Chapel with Rev. Earnest Sawyer officiating.
Interment will be at Houston Valley Cemetery and Greeneville V.F.W. No. 1990 will be in charge of a military graveside service.
The body is at Kiser Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
