Mrs. Karen LaVerne Whicker, 57 of Kingsland, Ga. passed away Tuesday, June 21st, 2011.
Mrs. Whicker was born April 13th, 1954 in Knoxville, Tennessee. She is the daughter of Jack and Ann Douglas Depew. She graduated from Hillsboro High School in Hillsboro, IL in 1972. She was married to Roger L. Whicker on May 23, 1981 at Cavalry Baptist Church in Madison, IN. She was of the Baptist faith. Karen was a stay at home wife. She had worked at Adens Convenient Store and Dollar General in Kingsland. Karen’s passions were her love of family and she always longed for her family reunions each year.
Mrs. Whicker is survived by her husband of 30 years, Roger L. Whicker of Kingsland, GA, her parents, Jack and Ann Depew of Kodak, TN; her son, Josh Knisley of Hillsboro, IL; her grandson, Michael Knisley of Hillsboro, IL; and her sister, Cheryl Tilley and her brother-in-law, Arthur Tilley; and her several nieces and nephews and many other family and friends. Mrs. Whicker is preceded in death by her brother, Jack Depew Jr., her sister, Gail Depew, and her sister-in-law Annetta Depew
A celebration of her life will be held from 12 to 4 pm Wednesday, June 29th, 2011 at Beech Springs Baptist Church, a Missionary Southern Baptist Church, located in Kodak, Tennessee.
Coastal Camden Funeral Home in Kingsland, Ga. is entrusted with her arrangements.
