Teena Marie “Granny” Helton, age 49 of Sevierville, passed away Friday, November 09, 2012. She was a wonderful wife and loving mother. A woman of faith, Teena was an encouragement and inspiration to her family and all whom she met. She was a member of Sunshine Ministry, where she also served a lay minister and a youth leader.
She is preceded in death by her mother Nancy Brunty and mother-in-law, Carolyn Helton.
Survivors include her husband Andy Helton; children, Crystal Avis, Frank Avis, Lee Avis and wife Crystal, Tiffany Vineyard and husband Scottie, Timmy Helton and wife Tia; grandchildren, Christian Avis “Nubbin”, Americus Avis “Tutti Frutti”, Hayden Vineyard “Lil One”, Grayson Vineyard “ Runt Grunt”, Lyla Helton “Big Girl” and Landyn Hall; brother, Matthew Sperry; sisters, Marjorie Fugate, Mary Straub, Joann Bone and Lynda Van Orden; father-in-law, Sam Helton; special in-laws, nieces and nephews that were close to her heart.
The family will receive friends 2-4 PM Sunday with funeral service to follow at 4 PM in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Barbara Lay officiating.
