(BOOTS) - entered into eternal rest after a good faith fight for several years with a lingering illness on June 10, 2002. She was a faithful member of Bentley St. Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) where she served for many years as finance treasurer, Superintendent of Sunday school, Deacon, CWF Member and other church positions. Preceded in death by parents, William Henderson and States America Delaney Holt; nephews, William (Piggy) and Paul Lawrence Holt. Survivors: sister, Mary Horton; loving friend, Eugene Brabson; daughters, Rev. America (Melvin) Miller, Nashville, Betty Benton, Oak Ridge, Janice (A. Maurice) Donaldson; sons, James "Woble" (and devoted friend, Bernice Watson), and Rev. Micheal (Glenda) Womble, Chattanooga; nieces, Alice Jones and Phyllis McDermott; nephews, Hiwatha (Barbara) Holt, Georgia, Arthur (Kim), David (Charlotte) and Ronald Holt, all were like her own children; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; friends. Rosetta and Jarvis, Dr. John Lacey and Mrs. Sylvian Lacey, Leath, Vivian Jarnigan, Charlotte Goley, Mary Womble and a host of other family and friends. Special thanks to floor nurses and staff at UT Hospital for the tender care of our loved one. Family will receive friends 12:30-1 p.m. Friday June 14, 2002 at Bentley Street Christian Church, funeral service 1 p.m. Rev. Arzolla Cook officiating. Interment Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
